VVTi Pigments is the leading Indian manufacturer and exporter of Titanium dioxide under the brand of OpaTi and Ferrous sulphate heptahydrate as by product. VVTi is a chemical manufacturing unit of V.V.Group, a family run business with group turnover of US$ 200 Million. They are also the first private TiO2 manufacturer in India to get the prestigious ISO 9001:2008 certification. It was established in the year 1994 as Kilburn chemicals Ltd., with an installed capacity of 3000 TPA for TiO2 and 10000 TPA for Ferrous sulphate heptahydrate.
Product & Capacity
Ilmenite, the main raw material for manufacturing Tio2 is being sourced from their sister concern VV Mineral.
Their current production capacity:
Titanium Dioxide [Anatase Grade] – 14500 TPA
Ferrous Sulphate Heptahydrate [Copperas] – 30000 TPA
Titanium dioxide
A vital ingredient for diverse industrial applications, Titanium Dioxide is the most commonly-used white pigment in the world. More than four million tonnes are used annually for a variety of industrial applications like manufacturing of Paint, Rubber, Paper, Detergents, Cosmetics, Printing Inks, Textiles, Plastics among other products.

Ferrous Sulphate
- Ferrous Sulphate Heptahydrate, also called copperas, is a blue-green, monoclinic crystals; soluble in water, melts at 64 degree C.
- Commercially generated as a by-product during the manufacture of Titanium Dioxide.
- Even though Ferrous sulphate is a by-product we have fully mechanised facility exclusively to manufacture FSH with min. 99% Purity.
- Used as a mordant in dyeing wool, in the manufacture of ink, in water purification as a substitute for aluminum sulfate, as a fertilizer, and as a feed additive.
- Copperas is also widely used as a coagulant in water treatment chemicals, and as a raw material for iron oxide pigments.
- Used as a micro-nutrient in fertilizers and animal feed.
- As raw material in the production of iron oxide pigments.
- As a flocculant for waste water treatment of printing, dyeing and electroplating due to its effective decolourization ability.
- As a reducing agent for reduction of chromate in cement and removal of phosphates and hydrogen sulfide.
- As an iron fortifier for feed additive.
