Ultramarine and Pigments is a leading manufacturer of a variety of Inorganic Pigments and Surfactants. such as, Ultramarine blues (Pigment Blue 29), Ultramarine Violets (Pigment Violet 15), Bismuth Vanadate (Pigment Yellow 184), and various mixed metal oxides. UPL focuses on the manufacture of environmentally friendly pigments that can be used safely across a variety of end-uses, including paints, plastics, inks, laundry, cosmetics, etc.

ULTRAMARINE BLUES (PIGMENT BLUE 29)

UPL is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of pigments including Ultramarine Blue. Their Ultramarine Blue is used across a range of products, from chairs for the Beijing Olympics to professional artist colours in Europe. Found in nature as the semi-precious stone Lapis Lazuli, it is highly heat and light stable, tolerates high temperatures, is non-toxic and does not stain cloth. It lends stability to plastic structures, reducing warpage, and is considered an optical brightener and an excellent tinting agent. It is widely used to make whites whiter, to make greys and blacks more attractive, and is a unique and attractive reddish Blue.

At UPL, they manufacture over 50 grades of Ultramarine Blue, varying in colour, strength, moisture content and other physical and chemical properties. We also make more specialized grades, depending on the customer’s needs, including thermal stability, acid resistance, filter pressure values, etc.

We currently cater to the plastics, coating, inks, cosmetics, fiber, stationary, laundry, paints, mining and construction industries.

LAUNDRY & WHITEWASHING BLUE

Ultramarine Blue when used in laundry acts as a fabric whitener, imparting dazzling white to the clothes
Ultramarine Blue also finds its application in Whitewashing to give a bright tinge to the walls and to aid wall-protection against the tough weather

SURFACTANTS

Since 1975, UPL has been manufacturing a menu of Anionic Surfactants, used in laundry, construction fire safety and personal care products. While they began their surfactants division with Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid, a common surfactant used for detergents, they now produce a variety of surfactants in various concentrations and forms, including Alpha Olefin Sulphonates and Lauryl Ether Sulphates.

They are one of the few manufacturers in India to use a falling film reactor to make their surfactants, and in combination with their detergent facility next door, provide a complete manufacturing solution for their clients.

Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid

Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid or LABSA is an excellent surfactant for use in laundry products, but is produced by small manufacturers at 90% concentration in batch processes with low yield and high adulterants. At UPL, we produce LABSA at both 96% and 90% concentrations, with a high active content, in a falling film reactor. Due to our expertise in increased yield and high quality of products, we are a preferred vendor for our FMCG clients.

Alpha Olefin Sulphonate

Alpha Olefin Sulphonates (AOS) are surfactants with high detergency, very high wetting and foaming properties and are compatible with the hard water often found in India. Indian customers prefer detergents which contain AOS, due to their excellent foaming and cleansing properties. Since AOS is used in both wet and dry formulations, we specialize in the manufacture of ready-to-use liquid, paste, noodles, powder or needles depending on the need of the customer.

Concentrations offered: 38%, 70%, 89% and 96%.

They serve the discerning customer with high quality home and laundry products. UPI manufactures different grades of detergent powder, liquid detergents and bars & dishwashing liquid and bars, scouring powder.
