India Nippon Electricals Limited incorporated in 1984 is a joint venture, wholly-owned subsidiary of Lucas-TVS Limited and MAHLE Electric Drives Japan Corporation, Japan – a company of MAHLE Group, Germany. They manufacture the entire range of digital and analog Electronic Ignition Systems for two-wheelers, three wheelers and portable engines/gensets.

Product range includes AC generators, Regulator & Rectifier unit, ignition coils, exhaust gas recirculation controller, engine controller unit-EPI, auto choke for general purpose engines, dual output ignition coil, throttle position sensor, Permanent Magnet alternator etc


Applications: digital and analog Electronic Ignition Systems for Two wheelers, three wheelers, All-terrain vehicles, power tiller, portable gensets, general purpose engines…


Commencing its operation in Hosur (Tamil Nadu), over the years India Nippon Electricals Limited has set up two more units with excellent facilities, one at Pondicherry and the other at Rewari (Haryana) to be nearer to customers and offer service such as just-in-time supplies and to improve response time for introduction of new products.

All three manufacturing sites of INEL have been certified for IATF 16949 Certification by BVC


Milestones:

  • 2015 Supply to Stanadyne Amalgamations.
  • 2014 Entered into partnership with Athena, Italy for EFI.
  • 2012 Started CDI business to Hero Motocorp for Scooter. Awarded ACG business for Scooter model by Suzuki, India. Awarded “Excellence in Technology” by ACMA.
  • 2011 Commenced exports to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Thailand thro Mahle EDJC. Commenced exports to Arpres, Turkey.
  • 2010 Pilot lot of Ignition Coils supplied to Dell’Orto, Italy. Commenced Exports to Novamark, Slovenia
  • 2009 Commenced exports to Kohler USA.
  • 2008 Started contract manufacturing of ECU for Delphi-TVS Commenced Exports to Yanmar, Italy All three manufacturing locations of INEL awarded ISO/TS16949:2002 Certification by BVCI.
  • 2007 Commenced Exports to Beldeyama / Ramzey , Turkey.
  • 2006 Commenced Exports to Tomos, Slovenia.
  • 2005 Commenced Exports to Modenas Malaysia.
  • 2004 Supply to Greaves for their General Purpose Engine Commenced Exports to Lombardini Italy for Diesel Engines
  • 2003 Introduction of CDI cum Flasher Unit for 4S Motorcycle. Supply to Lombardini India for their 422cc Engine Supply to Piaggio India for their 3W application
  • 2002 Certified by BVQI for ISO- 14001 EMS System for Hosur Unit.
  • 2001 Introduction / Commencement of supply of Digital CDI Ignition System. Supply to Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Ltd. Certified by BVQI for QS-9000 Quality system for Hosur Unit
  • 1999 Supply to Greaves for their 3W Engine . Supply to LML.
  • 1998 Commencement of supply of multi-pole Flywheel Magnetos and Regulator for BAL Kubota Engine. Certified by BVQI for ISO – 9001 Quality System for Hosur Unit.
  • 1997 Supply to Royal Enfield Motors Ltd.
  • 1995 Supply to Mahindra Two Wheelers (formerly Kinetic Honda Ltd.) for Scooters.
  • 1994 Export of Ignition coils to Kokusan Denki Co. Ltd., Japan. Recognition by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India
  • 1993 Introduction of Integral Unit (IU) for Mopeds. Supply to India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. for Motorcycles.
  • 1992 Supply to Honda Siel Power Products Ltd. for Genset
  • 1991 Supply to Hero Motocorp Ltd (formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd).
  • 1990 Supply to Birla Yamaha (Now Birla Power Solutions)-Genset.
  • 1989 Introduction of Electronic Ignition Systems for TVS Champ
  • 1988 Supply to Hero Motors – Moped.
  • 1987 Supply to Bajaj Auto for Motorcycles.
  • 1986 Established Manufacturing unit in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Commencement of Production and Supply to TVS Motor Company for Motorcycles.
