Spicer India Private Limited came about as a result of ANAND’s joint venture with Dana Incorporated, a global leader in the field of driveshaft and drivetrain components. This joint venture allows Spicer to make the most of the advanced engineering capabilities of SIPL and Dana engineers and develop world-class products.
E-AXLES FOR BEV AND HYBRIDS (E-AWD)
Expanding the company’s portfolio of power technologies and drive axles for electric and hybrid vehicles, Dana Incorporated introduced Spicer Electrified portfolio of fully integrated motor, control, and e-drive technologies that advance electric propulsion systems.
Dana Incorporated introduced the Spicer Electrified family of fully integrated motor, control, and e-drive technologies that advance electric propulsion systems for light-duty, commercial, and off-highway vehicles. Currently in production, the Spicer EV Drive for electric vans manages speed and torque from the e-motor to the wheels. Planned for launch in 2018, Dana’s new e-axles for electric transit buses and city delivery vehicles feature a fully integrated motor and gear box and leverage the company’s experience in chassis drivetrain applications. Dana is also working with automotive manufacturers to develop all-wheel-drive (AWD) e-axles that deliver superior performance, packaging, and reliability, while meeting customer demand for AWD functionality paired with traditional front-wheel-drive hybrids.
REAR & FRONT AXLES
The Spicer axle product line includes independent front and rear axles, front and rear beam-style axles, independent rear drive units and differential systems with advanced hypoid gear technology. The axle styles include Banjo, Clamshell and Salisbury designs, each of which is tailored to individual customer specifications. Spicer has also developed the AdvanTEK design axle. These high-performance axles are a prime example of our efforts to address efficiency, power density, fuel economy, torque-carrying capacity and weight. AdvanTEK axles make it possible for vehicles to handle high-torque engines. Spicer India is able to address the axle requirements of a full range of light vehicle applications including CUVs, SUVs, light trucks, vans and pick-up vehicles. Spicer India has the capability to address an application range from 0.75T payload to 6T payload (approximately 9T GVW)
