Composite Hoses Composite Cryogenic Hoses
The mandrel wrapped principle is utilized for the manufacturing of composite hoses. These hoses comprise of an inner wire spiral that serves as a foundation upon which multiple layers of fabric and film are wrapped. These layers are then bound together with an external wire spiral. The tension between the wire spirals provides the hose with the capability to withstand pressure.
The selection of materials used in the fabrication of composite hoses is the key to their performance. The materials used in the construction of the hose include Polypropylene, Polyester, and Polyamide for the fabric and film layers. The wire helixes can be constructed of galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or polypropylene coated steel.

Fuel Hoses to Transfer Petroleum Products

Principal Applications
Transfuel Light is a light weight suction discharge hose mainly for the transfer of petroleum products by road and rail tankers, for applications where the weight of the hose is an issue. The aluminium inner wire provides the lighter weight. The crush resistance of the hose is not as good as with a hose with an inner and outer steel/steel wire. This hose is suitable for Aviation Fuel.

Principal Applications
Transchem is suitable for the transfer of acids and alkalines. Transchem-S has the added suitability for applications involving corrosive atmospheres and splash. Note: Electrical continuity can be maintained for this hose by baring the inner wire (i.e.removing the polypropylene coating) near the fitting to allow positive connection of the wire to the fitting. This process however may introduce a potential corrosion path to the inner wire so care needs to be taken.

Principal Applications
Solflon is suitable for the transfer of the most aggressive chemicals and searching solvents. The PTFE liner has a low co-efficient of friction making the hose also suitable for the conveyance of high viscosity products such as paint.
Gas Hose – Transfer of LPG Gases
Description
Composite hose made from polyester and polyamide fabrics and films, reinforced with internal and external wire helixes.
Principal Applications
Transgas hose in general is suitable for the transfer of cryogenic conveyants down to – 50°C, liquid petroleum gas (LPG) handling and can be used for other conveyants as per Conveyant Compatibility Guides, to transport LPGs, it is standard practice to liquefy them either by refrigeration down to -50°C, or by pressurisation at approximately 20 Bar pressure at ambient temperature.
Gas Hose – Transfer of LNG Gases
Description
Composite hose made from polyester fabrics and films, reinforced with internal and external wire helixes. The fabric and films used in Cryogas have been selected due to their excellent resistance to low temperatures and their retention of flexibility.
Principal Applications
Cryogas is suitable for conveying a wide range of low temperature refrigerated conveyants including Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Liquid Nitrogen and Liquid Ethylene. To transport gases, it is standard practice to liquefy them either by refrigeration to low temperatures or by pressurisation.
High Temperature Hose
Description
Composite hose made from PTFE, polypropylene fabrics and films with an abrasion resistant PVC coated fabric cover. Inner and outer wires are galvanized mild steel and is lined with layer of PTFE film.
Principal Applications
Transoil-HiTemp hose. is especially suitable for transfer of High temperature petroleum products in in-plant applications, tankers for rail tankers, Tanker Trucks etc. It is an excellent hose for conveying tallow and high aromatic hydrocarbons.
Fire Retardant Hose Composite Cryogenic Hoses
Description
Fire retardantTM Composite Hoses are specially designed to safeguard the hoses and the environment from catastrophic situation. Additional Fire-resistant films and fabrics are included in the construction. These hoses are covered with special fiber glass fabric coated with fire retardant PVC to ensure a good thermal insulation and a low conductivity from the outside to the inside. Principal applications
Fire Retardant hoses are used for transferring flammable products including ship to shore, storage, in plant installations and bottom loading within the petroleum industry. Fire retardant performance meets the criteria to EN 13765 Normative Annex G Standards. It is extremely flexible, easy to handle and bend. Specifically engineered to handle chemicals, fuels, petrol, diesel, lubricating oils, all hoses are 100% aromatic resistant and perfectly antistatic and can be used for fluid delivery or vapor’s suction. The special series of COATED FIRE RETARDANT hose assemblies are fitted with an extensive range of couplings readily available, externally swaged with mild steel, Stainless Steel or aluminum-ferrules.
Manufacture
These hoses are manufactured according to the requirement specified by the European Standards EN 13765, and in accordance with the recommendations of NAHAD Guidelines.
Assemblies
These hoses assemblies are fitted with our in-house developed special fittings, specifically constructed to allow both inner and outer spiral wires of the hose to be positively connected to the fittings for electrical continuity.
Safety
Fire Retardant hoses assemblies are tested at 1 ½ times rated working pressures for safety and reliability, in accordance with EN 13765 (EN ISO 1402). The Hose is permanently marked on the tape for manufacturer’s logo, plus other data’s as per customer requirement.
Vapour Recovery Hose Composite Cryogenic Hoses
Description
Composite hose made from polypropylene fabrics and films with an abrasion resistant PVC coated fabric cover, reinforced with internal and external wire helixes. The hose contains a barrier layer for 100% aromatic hydrocarbons.
Principal Applications
VRH is suitable for the transfer of hydrocarbon vapours and is used generally within the petroleum industry for their vapour recovery systems.
Drain Hose Composite Cryogenic Hoses
Description
Composite hose assembly manufactured from a purpose built hose consisting of polypropylene
fabrics and films with stainless steel 316 inner and outer wire, fitted with stainless steel ANSI 150 RF
flanges.
Principal Applications
A special hose developed for use with floating roof drain systems to act as a flexible elbow of a pipe
arrangement due to its capacity to bend to a 90° angle in relatively short lengths.

Assemblies
