R134a
Non-ozone depleting refrigerant.
An efficient refrigerant in various air conditioning and medium temperature refrigerant applications.
One of the components of fluoro refrigerant blends (407C, 404A).
MAIN PROPERTIES | |
Composition | R-134a (100%) |
Type | HFC Single component fluid |
ASHRAE safety classification | A1-non-toxic and non-flammable |
GWP* | 1430 |
Recommended lubricant | POE or PAG (auto) |
Since the phaseout of R-12, R-134a has grown to become the standard refrigerant choice for household appliances, small self-contained refrigeration units, very large chillers, and automotive air conditioning. It is also a component in many refrigerant blends on the market. R134a is an HFC refrigerant, which requires polyolester (POE) lubricant to be used in the compressor.
R404a / R134a
Non-ozone depleting refrigerant, near-azeotropic blend.
Well-suited refrigerant for a variety of Medium and low-temperature refrigeration applications.
R404a has a very low-temperature glide* (less than 1℃) which makes it often suitable for flooded evaporated technology.
MAIN PROPERTIES | |
Composition | R-143a (52%) R-125 (44%) R-134a (4%) |
Type | HFC Near-azeotropic blend |
ASHRAE safety classification | A1-non-toxic and non-flammable |
GWP* | 3922 |
Recommended lubricant | POE |
A blend of R-125, R-143a, and R-134a is intended for low and medium-temperature refrigeration applications where R-502 was previously used. Most new supermarket and refrigeration equipment has been built for an HFC such as R-404A, R-507, or R-407A. It is also possible to retrofit charge R-507 systems with R-404A. R-404A has slightly lower pressures than R-507 (from the small amount of R-134a added), and generally, both blends have slightly higher pressures than R-502. R-404A requires polyolester (POE) lubricant, which is usually charged into new equipment. If retrofitting existing equipment, the original oil must be replaced with POE.
R407c / R134a
Non-ozone depleting refrigerant.
Designed for use in residential and commercial air conditioning systems.
MAIN PROPERTIES | |
Composition | R-134a (52%) R-125 (25%) R-32 (23%) |
Type | HFC Zeotropic blend |
ASHRAE safety classification | A1-non-toxic and non-flammable |
GWP* | 1774 |
Recommended lubricant | POE |
A blend of R-32, R-125, and R-134a has very similar properties to R-22 in air conditioning equipment. R-407C has the closest property match to R-22 in an air conditioning retrofit project compared to other blends on the market. It can also be used in medium temp R-22 refrigeration systems. R-407C has a 10°F temperature glide. New systems built with R-407C must have POE lubricants, and retrofitted R-22 systems would need the residual oil flushed with POE.
R410a
Non-ozone depleting refrigerant, near-azeotropic blend.
Developed for air conditioning as well as some medium-temperature refrigeration applications.
MAIN PROPERTIES | |
Composition | r-125 (50%) r-32 (50%) |
Type | HFC Near-azeotropic blend |
ASHRAE safety classification | A1-non-toxic and non-flammable |
GWP* | 2088 |
Recommended lubricant | POE |
A blend of R-32 and R-125 that nearly forms an azeotrope, which means it has extremely low temperature glide and almost no fractionation potential. This blend has about 60% higher pressure than R-22 in air conditioning applications, and therefore should be used only in new equipment specifically designed to handle the pressure. Systems designed for R-410A will have smaller components (heat exchangers, compressor, etc.) to perform the same cooling job compared to R-22. R-410A will require POE lubricants. Retrofitting R-22 equipment is not recommended under any circumstances.
R141b / R134a
Based on the Montreal Protocol.
Integrated time of 100 years based on IPCC 4th Report 2007.
MAIN PROPERTIES | |

Ozone depletion potential (ODP) *1 | 0.11 |
Global warming potential (GWP) *2 | 725 |
Refrigerant gas R141b solvent, used in cleaning systems and as a refrigerant under the names R-141b or HCFC-141b. 1,1-Dichloro-1-fluoroethane is a haloalkane with the formula C2H3Cl2F. It is one of the three isomers of dichlorofluoroethane.its a replacement for R11.

R22 / R134a
Used as a propellant and refrigerant as an alternative to the highly ozone-depleting CFC-11 and CFC-12.
Designed for Room Air conditioners, Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Units, Chillers, and intermediates for Life science.
MAIN PROPERTIES | |

R32
Non-ozone depleting refrigerant
The efficient refrigerant in air conditioning equipment
MAIN PROPERTIES | |
Composition | R-32 (100%) |
Type | HFC Single component fluid |
ASHRAE safety classification | Slight Flammable |
GWP* | 675 |
Recommended lubricant | POE. PVE or PAG |
Although there are various types of refrigerants, R-32 is a new refrigerant currently receiving the most interest.
Because R-32 efficiently conveys heat, it can reduce electricity consumption up to approximately 10% compared to that of air conditioners using refrigerant R-22. Furthermore, compared to the refrigerants widely used today such as R-22 and R-410A, R-32 has a global warming potential (GWP) that is one-third lower and is remarkable for its low environmental impact.
