Codina Metals

Woven Wire Meshes

Established more than one century ago, Codina Metals manufactures Woven Wire meshes/Cloth for processes and machinery applications for all kinds of industries. Since the ’70s they started the production of metal conveyor belts, filters out of woven wire meshes, knitted wire mesh, and demisters.

Architecture and design also feature strongly in their activity. Metal meshes provide creative solutions both functional and aesthetic: façades, claddings, curtains, ceilings, etc. in different materials and finishes.

Conveyor Belts

Conveyor belts consist basically of joined wires forming an endless belt, which is used for the continuous transfer of products. Wire belts are available in many different materials for numerous productions and process applications with a wide range of temperatures ranging from freezing to heat treatment.

Belts are built with flat wire spirals across the belt’s width and connected with either straight or crimped crossbars. The crossbar edges are either welded or linked.

The material used and recommended maximum temperatures

Manganese steel (steel)350ºC
Galvanized steel180ºC
Chromium steel – AISI 502<600ºC
Stainless steel 18/8 – 1.4307 – AISI 304750ºC
Stainless steel 18/8/2 – 1.4401 – AISI 316800ºC
Refractory steel 25/20 – 1.4841 – AISI 3141150ºC
Refractory steel 37/18 – 1.4864 – AISI 3301150ºC
Refractory steel 80/20 – 2.48691150ºC

Conveyor belts with accessories

A full range of single standard belts, plus the (non-standard) derived types, can be transformed into belts with accessories when elements such as chains, forked chains, guards, crosswire strips, etc. are involved in their construction.

Edge guards

Their placement prevents products from falling off the side of the belt. They may be of variable shapes, height or size. (Type C.A-L, C.A1-L, etc).

Possible finishes with edge guards

They can manufacture conveyor belts with any edge guards geometry.

Chains

They are situated to ease the haulage of the belt and ensure good traction preventing the mesh from suffering from wear and tear of the dynamic movement of the belt.

Woven Wire Meshes

  • Woven wire cloth for industrial use
  • Precorrugated woven wire cloth

Filters

Considering the quality and price of these products, Codina has a major advantage over the competition. They manufacture wire mesh filters from their own base products, which they produce in a variety of materials, (Woven wire meshes and knitted meshes) in Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Galvanized Steel, etc.).

These products are exclusively made to customers’ own drawings, samples, or particular specifications. They are equipped to manufacture from small to high volumes.

Here you can see some of their typically produced filters:

Simple discs

They are always made from woven mesh with filtration from 0,041 to 50mm.

Composed discs

They are usually made with different meshes (filter mesh and support mesh), either with welded joints or with a perimeter frame.

Custom width and sheets

These are produced in dimensions and filtration to customer requirements.

Simple cylinders

These are woven meshes with filtration to customer specifications and formed as an open-ended tube.

Composed cylinders

These are woven meshes with filtration to customer specifications, formed as a tube with one or several layers of mesh.

The ends may be framed or closed with the same mesh and can be made in differing finishes.

Inlaid filters

They are produced from woven mesh and formed with customized tooling to attain shapes and dimensions as specified by the customer.

Kitten mesh filters

As the name indicates, they are produced with knitted wire mesh and can consist of different shapes and densities.

Cylinders with rolled mesh, flat, rectangular, squares, etc.

Pleated filters

They are constructed with undulated woven mesh forming folds and can be cylindrical or flat.

Special filters

They are made of woven or knitted mesh as specified by the customer.

These filters may incorporate different materials (perforated plates expanded metal, and similar).

Knitted Wire Meshes and Demisters

Knitted wire meshes

Marketed like a flattened continuous sleeve allowing for making bodies of quite different geometry and density

Demisters

Devices used to separate in the most efficient manner the very fine drops carried away by a gas or steam, vacuum evaporation, or bubbling of a liquid.
