Two components go into the making of plywood – wood and adhesive. Selected high quality plantation wood is first converted to veneers of required thickness by rotary cutting.
The dry veneers are assembled perpendicularly to each other to acquire good mechanical strength in both along and across the fiber grain. Adhesives are then applied over the assembled veneers, alternatively. This is the main binding force to withstand stress, strain and weather conditions which makes it durable.

PARTICLE BOARD
Particle Boards are manufactured wood from saw dust, wood shavings and chips. The wood particles are pressed and bound by special adhesives to give it strength and durability. Sharon Ply has the best pressing technology in addition to the special formulation in adhesives.
Particle Boards are tremendously cost effective when compared with natural wood.
Particle Boards are made when wood chips are compressed with special glue, under high temperature and pressure. On account of using agricultural and forest waste, it promotes development of agro-forestry.
PRE-LAM
Prelam is short form for Pre-Laminated. Decorative design paper with high GSM are bonded to Particle Boards or MDF Boards to make Prelam Boards. Sharon Ply Prelam Particle Boards/MDF Board are fused with decorative base paper in the factory with superior technology and special adhesives which make them more durable than any other products in the market.
Pre-laminated Boards from Sharon Ply allows carpenters to skip the time consuming and laborious process of sticking laminates to plywood or particle board. Particular sized wood-chips are used in the making of boards, bonded by synthetic resin pressed under high temperature. VENEERS
Veneers are thin strips of wood applied to a base board of Plywood or Particle Boards. The veneers give the board a fine finish with the look of high quality wood. Sharon Ply Veneers are inspired by nature’s palette of stunning designs, textures and patterns.
Simply put, a veneer is a thin slice of cover or coating over the plywood board. Veneers are predominantly decorative in nature and impart the texture and hue of choice for the end user. There is virtually no limit to the decorative applications of veneers – these range from interiors to enriching furniture and even smaller wooden objects, down to musical instruments.
Sharon Veneer is broadly classified into two: Exoti Natura and Exoti Aura. The former is veneer crafted from natural wood, bearing the uniqueness of the tree it originated from. The latter is veneer made of reconstituted engineered wood.
Sharon Ply uses advanced technology to manufacture veneers. Veneer sheets are bound together by knitting hot melt springs. Once the sheets are joined, they are then pasted on the base ply. Thus, an additional level of process is incorporated rather than simply pasting veneers, in order to ensure optimum adhesion.
