Indo Tech Transformers Limited is a power and distribution transformer manufacturer including various special application transformers, mobile sub-station transformers and sub-stations. Over 56000 Transformers of different ratings are in service in various Substations and Industries across India and around the world.
The Company’s products include distribution transformers, power transformers, large power transformers, open ventilated dry type (OVDT) transformers and special transformers. It manufactures power transformers ranging between 5 megavolt amperes/33 kilovolts to 31.5 megavolt amperes/132 kilovolts. It manufactures OVDT transformers ranging between 100 kilo-volt-amperes/11 kilovolts and 2,500 kilo-volt-amperes/22 kilovolts Class. The Company manufactures distribution transformers ranging between 100 kilo-volt-amperes/11 kilovolts and 3,150 kilo-volt-amperes/33 kilovolts. Its transformers are supplied for applications ranging from generation, transmission and distribution of power. The Company’s manufacturing plants are located at Chennai and Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu.
The Company’s various facilities are established keeping in mind the best available infrastructure and with state-of-the-art equipment. The Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformers facility is totally dust free to enable manufacture transformers under very sterile conditions. The test facilities located at different facilities are capable of carrying out all routine and special tests as required by various national and international standards.
Distribution Transformers
Indo Tech manufactures a range of Distribution Transformers suitable for use in Utilities and industries. Distribution Transformers ranging between 100KVA /11KV to upto 5000KVA/33KV with various options and features are custom-made as per customers requirement. These transformers are manufactured at their Kancheepuram plant.
Power Transformers
Indo Tech manufactures a range of Power Transformers between 5MVA/33KV to 31.5MVA/132KV including two winding, three winding and auto transformers. The medium sized Power Transformers are manufactured at their Kancheepuram facility.
Large Power Transformers
They manufacture Large Power Transformers in the state-of-the-art facility at Kancheepuram. The range includes ratings of 31.5 MVA and above, including up to 200 MVA / 230 KV designs. Two winding, three winding and Auto Transformers are manufactured. These transformers are manufactured under sterile conditions and with the best available materials and processes.
Skid Mounted Substation
Skid mounted substations developed for wind mills provides transformer integrated with HV side protection gear complete with breaker and panel. The complete unit comprises of transformer, HV bushings to breaker panel bus-duct, HV breaker & panel and LV side cable box connections. All components were designed to be assembled on single skid and transported to customer premises as a single unit. The entire assembly is reinforced at critical points to bear transportation loads. The transformer is sent with radiator/conservator mounted and completely oil filled to avoid any mounting and oil filtration at site.
The skid mounted substation resulted in great savings for customer in terms of erection time and the space needed when compared with conventional DP yard substations. The savings in space was estimated to be close to 50% and the erection time crashed by 60%.
Ester Oil Transformers
Ester dialectic fluids are a viable natural alternative providing environmental, fire, safety and performance and life extension benefits over and above traditional mineral oils.
Formulated from edible seed oils and food grade additives, ester dielectric fluid is bio-based, sustainable, renewable and recyclable providing sustainable environmental protections.
Ester dielectric fluids offer strong benefits for transformers in environmentally sensitive locations. In the event of an oil release, ester dielectric fluids quickly and thoroughly biodegrade in the environment and contain no harmful petroleum, halogens, silicones or other questionable materials.
With a high flash point of 330°C they also provide a high level of fire safety compared to a flash point of 145°C for petroleum-based mineral oil.
In asset life terms, the chemical properties of ester dielectric fluids enhance transformer insulation performance and life expectancy, minimising the impact of moisture. As a result, the insulation system can last up to three times longer than in a mineral oil filled transformer. The fluids are entirely compatible with standard transformer insulating materials, components and with fluid processing equipment and procedures. It has been seen that insulating paper within ester
dielectric fluids age at a much slower rate than in conventional transformer oil due to its ability to draw out and absorb retained water.
