Myrrh

Maschmeijer Aromatics India Limited was set up in 1960 in collaboration with the world-famous Maschmeijer Aromatics B.V., Amsterdam for the manufacture of musks and fragrances including Myrrh and Benzoin.

A state of the art aroma chemical plant was set up in Chennai, India, along with a blending unit for fragrances. In the last four decades that they have been in operation in India, they have established themselves as the largest suppliers of nitro musks namely Musk Ambrette, Musk Ketone and Musk Xylol. They are also one of the largest manufacturers of fragrances and flavours in India. Large volumes of operation with in-house manufacture of a number of raw materials ensure that they are able to offer the best prices to their customers.

Essential Oils: Eucalyptus oil.

Aromatic Resinoids: Labdanum, Myrrh, Olibanum/ frankincense, and Benzoin.

Myrrh

Myrrh is a gum-resin extracted from a number of small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora. Myrrh resin has been used throughout history as a perfume, incense and medicine. Myrrh mixed with posca or wine was common across ancient cultures, for general pleasure, and as an analgesic.

Benzoin

Benzoin is the sap (gum resin) that comes from cuts in the trunk of trees that belong to the Styrax family. Benzoin is used on the skin for ulcers, bedsores (pressure ulcers), cracked skin, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses.

Labdanum

Labdanum, also called ladanum, ladan, or ladanon, is a sticky brown resin obtained from the shrubs Cistus ladanifer (western Mediterranean) and Cistus creticus (eastern Mediterranean), species of rockrose. It was historically used in herbal medicine and is still used in the preparation of some perfumes and vermouths.

Frankincense

Olibanum/Frankincense is a hardened gum-like material (resin) that comes from the trunk of the Boswellia tree. People use its oil on the skin and in aromatherapy. Frankincense oil seems to kill some types of bacteria and fungi (yeasts). It is commonly used as a fragrance in soaps, lotions, and perfumes.

They manufacture all esters namely acetates, utyrates, isobutyrates, valerianates, formates and propionates of benzyl alcohol, geraniol, citronellol and rhodinol.

They also manufacture Vetiveryl acetate, amyris acetate, and sandalyl acetate.
