Kadaknath Chicken, commonly known as Kali Masi (“bird with black meat”), is an Indian chicken breed. They came from Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar and Jhabua. These birds are mostly bred by rural and indigenous peoples. There are three colours to choose from: jet black, golden, and pencilled. This breed’s meat bears a geographical indication (GI Tag) tag, which was certified by the Indian government on July 30, 2018.

The Kadaknath is well-known for its adaptability and its grey-black meat, which is thought to boost energy. Melanin is responsible for its colour. The species is thought to have originated in the Kathiwar Alirajapur forests of Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua region.

The hens weigh 1.2–1.5 kg (2.6–3.3 lb) while the roosters weigh 1.8–2 kg (4.0–4.4 lb). The eggs of Kadaknath chickens are brown with a pink hue; they are poor setters and seldom hatch their own brood. Eggs typically weigh 30–35 g (1.1–1.2 ounce).

WHY YOU NEED TO BUY KADAKNATH CHICKEN & KADAKNATH EGGS FROM US?

Kadaknath birds have gold plumage with greenish iridescence and are grey-black all over. The greyish black coloration may be found in the legs and toes, beak, tongue, comb, and wattles, as well as the flesh, bones, and organs.

A healthy adult male Kadaknath weighs around 1.5 kilograms. Its black flesh has a strong and unique flavour, and it contains more protein (around 25%) than white chicken meat (approx 18 percent ). The inky fowl, which is high in vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E, niacin, calcium, phosphorus, and iron, has a reduced fat content of 0.73-1.03 percent, compared to around 25 percent in other chicken breeds.

Kadaknath flesh contains 18 amino acids, eight of which are required by the human body. Black meat is also said to be healthier since it contains 24 percent linoleic acid, compared to 21 percent in white chicken.

Furthermore, Kadaknath has a cholesterol content of 184.75 mg/100 gm, as opposed to 218.12 mg/100 gm in other chicken kinds. These characteristics make Kadaknath meat and eggs appealing to health-conscious consumers.
