brass components

Heatech Engineers is the manufacturer of Cold Extruded and Cold Forged Components including brass components for various automotive and hydraulics applications. Cold forging saves both time and money for companies looking to increase their productivity and efficiency.

Heatech Engineers is an ISO 9001 company, certified by TUV SUD South Asia, Member of TUV SUD Group
They specialize in converting components from the conventional machining and hot forging route into the cold forging route due to the established benefits of cold extrusion with respect to material saving, productivity and cost reduction.

Heatech Engineers, incorporated in 1985, was primarily a subcontract heat treatment facility to cater to auto component manufacturers for their Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers.

In the year 2000, the Company diversified into manufacture of near net shape cold extruded components with a 150 Tonne cold forging press.Today, we have expanded our cold forging capacity with additional cold extrusion presses ranging from 75 Tonnes to 150 Tonnes.

Over 50 near net shaped cold extruded components ranging in weight from 10 grams to 300 grams are currently under production catering primarily to the auto segment which is a fast-expanding market in India.

Their product range:

  • Speedo drive pinion blanks for trucks and cars.
  • Push rod spherical end sockets.
  • Various sizes of nut blanks from 24 A/F to 41 A/F for hydraulic end fittings.
  • Sleeves and various hydraulic end fittings such as spherical Stems and JIC Stems.
  • Output shaft for brake assembly, battery terminals and various stepped diameter shafts.
  • Bearing cups, and intricate backward extruded profiled components.

COLD FORGING

WHAT IS COLD EXTRUSION?
Cold extrusion can be defined as forcing unheated metal to flow through a shape forming die. It is a method of shaping metal by plastically deforming it under compression at room temperature while the metal is under a die cavity formed by the tools. It is a chipless forming technology.

Cold forming products to near net shape maximises material usage producing virtually no wastage. The process of cold extrusion is ideal for fast volume production at least cost. On this score it is unrivalled. Cold Extrusion is a modern method of forming parts, superior in many respects to other technologies.

ADVANTAGES OF COLD EXTRUSION PROCESS:

  • Saves material sometimes over 50%.
  • Avoids machining to a great extent.
  • Ideal for large volume faster production.
  • Work hardens and strengthens cheaper material to required specification eliminating need for heat-treatment.
  • Good surface finish and close tolerances are achievable.
  • Uniform, uninterrupted grain flow develops naturally during the forming process, giving extruded parts higher strength.
