HISTORY
The name Kilburn is synonymous with the power sector since 1895. Motor starters and oil-circuit breakers have been manufactured since 1942.
KILBURN POWER GEAR LTD
Kilburn Power Gear Ltd was incorporated in 1993 to manufacture a range of medium-voltage switchgear and LT panels.
Their manufacturing facilities are located at Chennai in South India.

Retrofitting and Refurbishing of switchgears
Since 1997, Kilburn has retrofitted Vacuum Circuit Breakers at numerous installations, replacing Low Oil Circuit breakers of NGEF, Siemens, Kirloskar, Jyoti, Fuji and Russian-made breakers.
Kilburn Vacuum Circuit breakers can be retrofitted to replace Bulk Oil/Low Oil/ Air blast circuit breakers.
Compact in design, Kilburn Vacuum Circuit Breakers can be mounted on the existing trolley in the existing panel without causing disturbance and with least interruption in power supply! Customers have been able to upgrade their existing systems quickly and at least cost!
Certification
Vacuum Circuit Breakers manufactured by Kilburn are to the design and drawings of AEG Sachsenwerk GmbH, Germany who are pioneers in vacuum technology. Further, these designs have passed tests as per international standards at High Power Laboratory of KEMA in Arnhem, Netherlands.
Vacuum Circuit Breakers have also been tested in India at the Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore which is a statutory testing authority of the Government of India which covers the entire range upto 33 kV, 50 kA, 3150 Amps.
