Manufacturers of traditional Clay pots: More than 200 families living in Karaikurichi, Kuniyur and Pudukkudi villages of Ambasamuram Taluk, Tirunelveli Dist are engaged in the manufacturing of traditional clay pots.

A wide range of products made out of clay are manufactured here. Cookware, water pots, frying pans, briyani pots, cooking pots, jars, plates, curd pots, water jugs, flower pots, hanging flower pots, pickle jars, vastu pots, water cups, ice-cream cups, fridge bottles etc with and without lids in various shapes and sizes are made here. Custom designs are also undertaken.

A notable product is the 5kg capacity natural refrigerator made of clay used to preserve fruits, vegetables and other food items. They claim the food lasts for more than a week!

These eco-friendly products are being exported to many countries like Singapore, Malaysia, GCC Countries etc
