The leather industry in Tamil Nadu, which accounted for 45%-50% of the annual Indian leather exports of $5.09 billion in 2019-20 and estimated to touch $5.9 billion in 2021-22 is looking at a growth opportunity. Globally, 86% of the footwear sold is non-leather. While leather will continue to remain a niche and luxury product, it is the non-leather footwear that will offer tremendous growth opportunities for at least the next 10 years.
Feng Tay Enterprises Co., Ltd. was established in 1971. Research and Development Center
In 1992, Feng Tay Group collaborated with NIKE in establishing NIKE’s first Asia-based shoe manufacturing research and development center to engage in research and development work. We have developed several important research projects from products, processes, to mold manufacturing. In 2010, we began implementing automation research and development to apply automated technology to the manufacturing process.
